The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe heatwave warning for Northwest India, particularly Rajasthan, forecasting temperatures up to 46°C next week.
East and West Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and other regions will experience extreme heat through the week.
The IMD predicts a gradual temperature rise of 4-6 degrees Celsius, with Barmer recording 48.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

The IMD forecasts a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius, potentially reaching 46-48 degrees Celsius by May 19. On Tuesday, Barmer in West Rajasthan recorded 48.3 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest place in the country. Additionally, unusually warm nights have been noted in Rajasthan, with minimum temperatures ranging between 26 and 31 degrees Celsius.
