It remained on the ground for approximately two minutes, spanning three-quarters of a mile in length and 160 yards in width. The second tornado briefly touched down along Lake Drive in Arnold/Cape Saint Claire near the Magothy River. Meteorologists had issued a tornado watch earlier in the day, followed by warnings as conditions evolved. Damage assessments are ongoing, with reports of downed trees, wires, hail, and localized flooding across the region, including Montgomery County, Northwest D.C., and areas near Fredericksburg and Harpers Ferry.

The tornadoes caused significant damage, including over 100 reports of downed trees and wires, hail, and minor flooding. A gas station canopy in Northwest D.C. collapsed due to the storms. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, as residents were able to seek shelter following advance warnings. The storms also impacted areas beyond Anne Arundel County, including Talbot County on the Eastern Shore and parts of northern Montgomery County.
