Impact & Risks

The extreme heat poses significant health risks, particularly for vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing health conditions. Heat-related illnesses like heat exhaustion and heat stroke are a concern, with symptoms including dizziness, nausea, and confusion. The high humidity, exacerbated by a phenomenon known as 'corn sweat,' will further increase discomfort and health risks. Public cooling centers and other facilities will be available to help residents cope with the heat.
