NASA scientists are testing a lithium-powered electromagnetic thruster that could make future missions to Mars faster and more efficient.
The prototype reached 120 kilowatts, more than 25 times the power of thrusters used on NASA’s Psyche mission, while using up to 90% less propellant than traditional chemical rockets.
