• KCTV5, in partnership with The Salvation Army, The University of Kansas Health System, and Arvest Bank, is organizing the annual Project Warmth donation drive to help families in the Kansas City metro area stay warm during the winter.
• The event encourages community members to donate new or gently used cold-weather items such as coats, jackets, blankets, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and other winter essentials.

Impact & Risks

The donation drive aims to address the urgent need for winter clothing and gear among thousands of children and adults in the Kansas City metro area who lack adequate resources to stay warm during the colder months. Without proper winter attire, vulnerable populations face increased risks of health issues such as hypothermia and frostbite. The initiative provides an opportunity for the community to come together and support those in need, potentially reducing the strain on local shelters and social services.
