The Kansas City Chiefs have acquired offensive guard Joshua Ezeudu from the New York Giants in exchange for a 2028 seventh-round draft pick, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Ezeudu, a 6-foot-4, 310-pound lineman, was originally drafted by the Giants in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He has played 33 games in his NFL career, primarily as a guard, though he has also seen time at tackle. Ezeudu missed the entire 2025 season due to a calf injury but is expected to be ready for the Chiefs' season opener on September 14,
The move comes as Kansas City looks to strengthen its offensive line ahead of the regular season.

Impact & Risks

The addition of Joshua Ezeudu provides the Kansas City Chiefs with much-needed depth on their offensive line, a critical area for protecting quarterback Patrick Mahomes and supporting the team's running game. However, Ezeudu's injury history, including a missed 2025 season due to a calf injury, raises concerns about his durability. The Chiefs are betting on his ability to stay healthy and contribute effectively. For the Giants, trading Ezeudu allows them to gain a future draft pick while potentially creating space for other players on their roster.
