Madison, WI Braces for Five Rounds of Severe Storms Through Thursday
US · Published Jun 10, 2026
The City of Madison, Wisconsin, is preparing for a significant weather event as the National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts up to five rounds of severe thunderstorms from early Wednesday morning through Thursday evening.
These storms could bring strong winds exceeding 80 mph, large hail up to baseball size, and the potential for tornadoes.

Why It's Important?

The severe weather poses risks to life and property, particularly from damaging winds, large hail, and potential tornadoes. Flash flooding could also occur due to heavy rainfall, especially during the later rounds of storms. Mobile and modular homes are considered unsafe during tornadoes, and residents in such structures are advised to seek alternative shelter. Power outages are possible, and extreme heat on Wednesday could exacerbate health risks, particularly for vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing conditions.
