High Winds and Sunshine Expected Along California Coast

The California coast is set to experience stronger-than-usual winds on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, accompanied by sunny skies.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, gusts of 20 to 30 mph are expected across the Bay Area, including San Francisco's Embarcadero and Oakland's Jack London Square.
Pacific beaches may see gusts up to 35 mph, while San Francisco International Airport could experience occasional gusts reaching 45 mph.

Why It's Important?

The strong winds could pose risks to small watercraft and outdoor activities along the coast, particularly in areas under the gale warning. Coastal regions may experience choppy waters and hazardous conditions for boating. Inland areas, especially Sonoma, Napa, Solano, and Contra Costa counties, will see significantly warmer temperatures, which could increase the risk of heat-related illnesses for vulnerable populations. The South Bay will experience slightly moderated temperatures due to the wind corridor along Highway 101.
