US · Published May 13, 2026
MSC Cruises has officially launched its Alaska cruise season with the MSC Poesia departing from Seattle on its inaugural voyage to the region.
The ship will operate weekly seven-night itineraries through September, visiting key destinations such as Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, and Juneau in Alaska, as well as Victoria in Canada.
Scenic cruising through the Endicott Arm fjord and views of Dawes Glacier are also part of the experience.

Why It's Important?

The launch of MSC Poesia’s Alaska itineraries offers travelers a unique opportunity to explore the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Scenic cruising through fjords and glacier views provides a memorable experience, while the onboard partnership with ORCA highlights the importance of marine conservation. However, travelers should be prepared for potential weather-related disruptions common in Alaska, such as fog or rain, which could impact visibility or schedules. Additionally, the cruise line’s commitment to sustainability and education aims to mitigate environmental risks associated with increased tourism in the region.
