Westlake Ace Hardware, in partnership with The Salvation Army, has launched its annual Fan Drive to help residents in Springfield and other communities stay cool during the summer heat.
The campaign, running from May 18 to June 6, raises funds to provide new box fans to individuals and families who may struggle to afford cooling solutions.
Customers can contribute by rounding up their purchases at participating Westlake Ace stores or donating online.

Why It's Important?

The summer heat poses significant risks, particularly for vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing health conditions. Without adequate cooling, individuals may face heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heatstroke. The Fan Drive aims to alleviate these risks by providing a simple yet effective solution to improve comfort and safety. The initiative also underscores the financial strain that extreme heat can place on families already facing economic challenges, offering a practical way to mitigate these difficulties.
