St. Louis CITY SC has signed 27-year-old Danish midfielder Carlo Holse from Turkish Süper Lig club Samsunspor. The transfer, reportedly valued at $6 million, secures Holse's services through the 2028-29 season, with an option for 2029-
Holse will occupy both a Designated Player and an international roster slot. The club also acquired his Discovery Priority from the Philadelphia Union for up to $300,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM). St. Louis sporting director Corey Wray praised Holse's consistent performance across European leagues and expressed confidence in his ability to contribute to the team.

Impact & Risks

The addition of Carlo Holse is expected to enhance St. Louis CITY SC's midfield strength and overall team dynamics. As a Designated Player, Holse will carry significant expectations to deliver results on the field. However, the high transfer fee and international roster slot allocation add pressure for the player to perform at a high level. Any underperformance could impact the team's financial and competitive strategies.
