Dog paws on May pavements: the back-of-hand check every Indian pet parent should know before evening walks

Protect your dog's paws from hot pavements during summer in India.
Use the back-of-hand test to check the temperature before walks.
Walk during cooler hours, choose shaded areas, and consider dog booties.

Why It's Important?

Before heading out, place the back of your hand on the pavement for five seconds. If it feels too hot for you, it's definitely too hot for your dog. Remember, dogs don't wear shoes, and their paws are susceptible to burns from prolonged contact with hot surfaces. Pavements, asphalt, and even sand can retain heat long after the sun has started to set.
