Ventilation is key to cooling your home naturally. The goal is to create a cross breeze that allows cooler air to enter and warmer air to escape. Start by opening windows on opposite sides of your home during the cooler parts of the day, typically early morning and late evening. Use fans to enhance airflow, placing them in windows to either draw cool air in or exhaust hot air out. For multi-story homes, opening windows on both the upper and lower levels can create a natural convection current, pulling hot air upwards and out.
