Hikers, campers, and boaters should anticipate busy trailheads, camping areas, and boat launches due to the favorable weather. The Shallow Lake Trail in the Pigeon Lake Wilderness and parts of the Northville-Placid Trail in the West Canada Lakes Wilderness are impassable due to beaver flooding. Additionally, the Lake Placid Boat Launch will be closed on August 18-19 for maintenance, and Forked Lake Road will close starting September 8 for a bridge replacement project.
