US · Published Sep 7, 2026
Alabama is experiencing another day of intense heat and stormy weather as a 'cold' front moves through the state.
High temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s to around 100°F (37-38°C) in north and central Alabama, and the low to mid-90s (32-35°C) in the south.

Impact & Risks

The combination of extreme heat and severe weather poses significant risks to residents across Alabama. The Heat Advisory affects the northern two-thirds of the state, where heat indices could reach dangerous levels. Strong to marginally severe thunderstorms may lead to localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas, and could cause damage due to high winds and heavy rainfall. Flash flooding is a concern in south Alabama, which is under a Marginal Risk (1/4) for flooding today and tomorrow.
