The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across various regions of India as the southwest monsoon remains active.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Northwest, Central, West Coast, and Northeast India.

Impact & Risks

Heavy rainfall has already disrupted normal life in several states. In Haryana's Gurugram, a section of National Highway-48 caved in due to heavy rains, causing significant traffic disruptions. In Uttarakhand, debris and stones blocked the Yamunotri National Highway (NH-134) near Siyanchatti, halting traffic. The IMD has warned of potential risks such as localised flooding, reduced visibility, landslides, and transport disruptions in areas expected to receive heavy rainfall. Residents in affected regions are advised to remain cautious and prepare for possible hazards.
