The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for heavy rainfall at isolated locations across several states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, East Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Punjab, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and West Madhya Pradesh.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 km/h) are likely in Andhra Pradesh, while East Rajasthan may experience gusty winds of 30-40 km/h.

Impact & Risks

The heavy rainfall and thunderstorms could lead to localised flooding, waterlogging, and disruptions in daily life, particularly in low-lying areas. Strong winds may cause damage to weak structures, trees, and power lines, especially in Andhra Pradesh and East Rajasthan. Residents in the affected regions should remain cautious of potential landslides in hilly areas like Uttarakhand and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Travel disruptions and delays are also possible due to adverse weather conditions.
