• An atmospheric river is causing widespread flooding across the Mountain West and Southwest regions, with Arizona being particularly hard-hit.
• Nearly all of Arizona, along with parts of southern Utah, southwest Colorado, western New Mexico, and southern Nevada, are under flood watches through Monday.

Impact & Risks

The flooding poses significant risks to residents in affected areas, with mandatory evacuations already in place in Sedona and other communities. Emergency crews have conducted at least 16 water rescues in the Tucson area, though no injuries have been reported. Flooding from the Salt River releases in Maricopa County is also a concern. Travel disruptions, property damage, and potential life-threatening conditions are expected in areas under flood warnings. Residents in low-lying areas and near rivers or creeks are at the highest risk.
