• The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across Odisha due to a developing low-pressure area. An upper-air cyclonic circulation over north Thailand is expected to move to the north Andaman Sea by September 18, forming a low-pressure area by September
• This system is likely to intensify and move towards south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts over the next 3-4 days. Orange and yellow warnings have been issued for various districts, with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds expected in regions such as Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, and others. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in districts like Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj during this period.
