The ongoing heatwave is causing significant distress to residents in Banda and other parts of western Uttar Pradesh. Health facilities are reporting an increase in cases of heat-related illnesses such as fever, dizziness, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Prolonged exposure to such high temperatures poses risks of heatstroke and dehydration, particularly for vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, and outdoor workers. The IMD has issued an orange alert for several districts, including Lucknow, warning of continued extreme heat conditions.
