Heavy Rain Hits Bengaluru; IMD Predicts More Showers
IN · Published Oct 26, 2026
• Bengaluru and parts of South Interior Karnataka experienced heavy rainfall recently, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting light to moderate rain or thundershowers, occasionally heavy, over the next 24 hours.
• The city is expected to remain generally cloudy, with maximum and minimum temperatures around 27°C and 21°C, respectively.

Impact & Risks

The heavy rainfall in Bengaluru may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas and potential traffic disruptions. Residents in South Interior Karnataka, particularly in Bengaluru Urban and Rural districts, should be prepared for possible localised flooding and reduced visibility during thundershowers. The intensifying depression in the Bay of Bengal could bring strong winds and heavy rainfall to coastal Andhra Pradesh, with wind speeds expected to reach 115-125 km/h as the system approaches the coast.
