More than 500 companies along Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road (ORR) have opposed a proposal to implement work-from-home arrangements during a planned road redevelopment project.
The Outer Ring Road Companies Association (ORRCA) has urged the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) to delay major roadworks until the Namma Metro becomes operational, citing concerns over significant disruption to the tech corridor, which employs approximately 1.3 million people.

Impact & Risks

The proposed roadworks could severely disrupt Bengaluru's tech corridor, affecting businesses and the daily commute of over a million employees. The rejection of work-from-home as a traffic management strategy highlights the need for better infrastructure planning. Delays in Metro connectivity and road redevelopment could further exacerbate traffic congestion and impact economic activities in one of India's key technology hubs.
