BCCI to Review Rehabilitation Program Amid Rising Player Injuries
IN · Published Aug 8, 2026
The BCCI is set to review its rehabilitation program at the Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru, following a surge in injuries among Indian cricketers.
Secretary Devajit Saikia will meet Head of Cricket VVS Laxman on Sunday to address concerns over the COE's management and its coordination with the selection committee.

Impact & Risks

The growing list of injured players poses a significant challenge for the Indian cricket team, potentially affecting their performance in upcoming matches. Mismanagement of rehabilitation protocols could lead to prolonged recovery times and jeopardize players' careers. The absence of a figurehead at the COE since 2025 has further complicated the situation.
