The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for heavy rainfall over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and the North Eastern States, expected to continue until Saturday.
Additionally, heavy rainfall is predicted over Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim until tomorrow.

Impact & Risks

The forecasted heavy rainfall could lead to localised flooding, waterlogging, and disruptions in daily life, particularly in low-lying areas of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and the North Eastern States. Odisha may experience more severe impacts due to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas over the weekend. Thunderstorms with gusty winds and lightning pose additional risks, especially in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, potentially affecting outdoor activities and infrastructure.
