The Atlantic tropics are showing signs of increasing activity, with three areas of interest being monitored. A wave near the Lesser Antilles faces low development odds on August 11–12, while a trailing wave has a high chance of developing from August 12–15 as it moves west. A third system near Bermuda has a low chance of development on August 11–
Saharan dust, dry air and wind shear remain major obstacles, while El Niño could continue limiting activity.
