The WBZ-TV weather team has issued a NEXT Weather Alert for the Boston area, forecasting stormy conditions starting Tuesday and intensifying Wednesday.
Heavy rain and localized flooding are the primary concerns, with the first wave of rain expected to impact western New England and New York on Tuesday.

Impact & Risks

Localized flooding is the main risk, particularly in Greater Boston and interior areas. Southeastern Massachusetts faces a lower risk, while regions farther west, including Connecticut and the Hudson River Valley, could see rainfall totals exceeding eight inches. The heavy rainfall may disrupt travel and cause hazardous conditions on roads. Humidity levels will rise, adding to discomfort for residents. Flash flooding remains a possibility in areas with torrential rain.
