US · Published Sep 4, 2026
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a coastal flood advisory for Los Angeles County Beaches, Ventura County Beaches, and nearby areas, including Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands.
The advisory is in effect from Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 6:00 a.m.

Impact & Risks

The advisory highlights an increased risk of ocean drowning due to rip currents and large waves, which can wash people off beaches and rocks or capsize small boats. Vulnerable low-lying areas may experience flooding, but significant damage to roads or structures is not anticipated. Swimmers, surfers, and boaters are advised to exercise extreme caution, as dangerous surf conditions could lead to injuries or fatalities. Beach erosion is also expected to intensify during this period.
