The storm caused widespread damage in central Maryland, particularly in Northwest DC, Montgomery County, and northern Anne Arundel County. Numerous trees were downed, some of which fell onto homes, posing risks to residents and property. The storm also led to significant power outages, leaving over 300,000 customers without electricity. While a tornado watch was in effect, the confirmed tornado occurred outside the immediate area of central Maryland, reducing the direct tornado risk locally.
