• Cyclone Arnab, a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal, has intensified and is forecast to strengthen further before making landfall on India's Andhra Pradesh coast as a very severe cyclonic storm on Wednesday.
• As of 6:00 AM on 26 October 2026, the cyclone was located approximately 820 km southwest of Chattogram port, 745 km southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 785 km south of Mongla port, and 745 km south of Payra port.

Impact & Risks

Cyclone Arnab is expected to bring light rainfall to coastal areas of Bangladesh, including Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions, over the next two days. However, meteorologists have indicated that the cyclone is unlikely to cause significant impacts in Bangladesh. The storm poses a higher risk to India's Andhra Pradesh coast, where it is expected to make landfall as a very severe cyclonic storm. Winds associated with the cyclone could reach speeds of 118 to 165 km/h, potentially causing damage to infrastructure and disrupting daily life in affected areas.
