In 2025, solar photovoltaic generation increased by 600 terawatt-hours globally, marking the largest annual growth for any electricity source, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).
This surge brought total solar generation to nearly 2,700 terawatt-hours, accounting for over 8% of global electricity supply.
