The Frijoles Fire has burned over 15,000 acres of timber and brush, but no evacuations are currently in place for Santa Fe or Rio Arriba counties. A temporary forest area closure remains in effect for the Santa Fe National Forest, including the Pecos Wilderness area. Smoke may impact air quality in the Frijoles River Valley and areas east of the fire, particularly in the evenings. Residents are advised to stay prepared and monitor updates as conditions may change.
