The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a bulletin forecasting widespread rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across several regions of India this week.
A low-pressure area over southwest Madhya Pradesh is moving towards south Rajasthan and north Gujarat, contributing to the wet conditions.

Impact & Risks

Regions such as Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Ladakh, and adjoining areas are expected to see widespread rain with thunderstorms and lightning from September 15 to 17. Central India, including west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha, may experience isolated heavy rainfall between September 14 and 15. Maharashtra's Vidarbha, Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nashik regions are currently experiencing rainfall. These conditions may lead to localised flooding, travel disruptions, and potential damage to infrastructure.
