On Wednesday evening, rain and hailstorms impacted Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR), causing significant disruptions at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
According to reports, at least 15 flights were diverted to Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Lucknow due to adverse weather conditions.
Airlines such as IndiGo and Air India issued travel advisories, warning passengers of extended wait times and urging them to check flight statuses before heading to the airport.

Why It's Important?

The adverse weather conditions primarily affected air travel, with passengers facing delays and diversions. The Jaipur airport made arrangements to accommodate diverted flights and passengers. The IMD's orange alert indicates potential risks of localized flooding, reduced visibility, and hazardous travel conditions due to strong winds and hail. Residents in affected areas, including Central, East, and South Delhi, were advised to remain cautious.
