The forecasted rainfall could disrupt Janmashtami celebrations in affected areas, particularly in Delhi and neighbouring regions. Waterlogging, localised flooding, and transport disruptions are likely in areas with saturated soil or poor drainage. Madhya Pradesh, which has already experienced intense rainfall, faces an elevated risk of flash floods and waterlogging. The IMD has also issued a low to moderate flash-flood risk warning for parts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Thunderstorms and lightning in the northeast and eastern states add to the risks for residents and commuters.
