• These regions may face hailstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h (25–31 mph). Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon is expected to arrive in southern India within two to three days, bringing rainfall influenced by a developing low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. Other states, such as Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, may also experience thunderstorms, lightning, and winds of 30–40 km/h (19–25 mph). The weather activity is attributed to a western disturbance and an upper-air cyclonic circulation over northwestern Uttar Pradesh, along with a trough in the westerlies.

Impact & Risks

The adverse weather conditions are expected to vary across regions, with some areas experiencing more severe impacts. Strong winds may break tree branches, uproot vulnerable trees, and damage power and communication lines. Hailstorms pose a significant risk to standing crops, particularly banana and papaya plantations, as well as other horticultural produce. Farmers in affected areas are advised to monitor weather updates closely and take necessary precautions to minimize potential losses. Residents in northern states should prepare for possible disruptions caused by thunderstorms and strong winds.
