Hot surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, and sand can cause painful burns to paw pads, while prolonged exposure to high temperatures can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, or heat stroke. These conditions can escalate quickly, potentially resulting in organ damage or death if not treated promptly. Even short walks or brief exposure to hot environments can be dangerous.
