Himachal Pradesh is experiencing significant disruptions due to ongoing rainfall, with 85 roads blocked across the state.
The Shimla Meteorological Office has forecasted a wet spell to continue until 11th September.

Impact & Risks

The rainfall has caused widespread disruptions, including the closure of roads, damage to 29 power transformers, and 51 water supply schemes. Since the monsoon began on 30th June, 110 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents, and the state has incurred losses amounting to Rs 1,242 crore. The blocked roads are hampering transportation and emergency services, particularly in Mandi, Kullu, and Kangra districts. Residents in affected areas face challenges in accessing essential services.
