Heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh has led to the closure of 64 roads across the state, disrupting vehicular traffic.
Over the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain has been recorded in several areas, with Dhaulakuan in Sirmaur district receiving the highest rainfall at 39.5 mm.

Impact & Risks

The road closures have caused significant disruptions to transportation and daily activities in the affected districts. Mandi, being the most impacted, faces severe mobility challenges. The ongoing rainfall has also heightened the risk of landslides and other rain-related incidents. Since the onset of the monsoon on June 30, the state has reported 114 fatalities due to rain-related incidents and incurred losses amounting to ₹1,550 crore. The situation remains critical, particularly in areas prone to landslides and flooding.
