In southwest Colorado, the Ferris and Far Draw fires have merged, now covering over 9,591 acres, according to the Dolores County Office of Emergency Management (DCOEM).
The nearby Doe Canyon Fire, which had reached 1,046 acres, has also merged with the other two fires.

Impact & Risks

The fires pose a significant threat to residents and properties in the affected areas. Evacuation notices have been issued for Glade Ranches and surrounding private landholdings, with pre-evacuation notices extending to areas east of Lone Mesa State Park and north to Disappointment Road. Road restrictions are in place, limiting access to recreational sites and campgrounds. While no structures have been lost so far, the fires' growth and strong winds increase the risk of further damage. Air quality in the region has also deteriorated, posing health risks to residents.
