Partial Reopening of BWCAW Amid Ongoing Wildfires

Phase 2 of the reopening will allow day and overnight access to 41 entry points, covering approximately 432,500 acres, or 39% of the BWCAW. These areas are primarily located in the central and eastern portions of the Wilderness, including parts of Lake, Cook, and St. Louis Counties. The reopening is contingent on stable wildfire conditions, and permits for other entry points remain canceled through August
