Northwest Florida is bracing for dangerous heat conditions through the middle of the week, with Tuesday expected to be the hottest day.
Afternoon temperatures are forecasted to reach the upper 90s to near 100°F (37-38°C), but high humidity will push heat index values to a sweltering 108-112°F (42-44°C) across most areas.

Impact & Risks

The extreme heat poses significant health risks, particularly for those spending extended periods outdoors or without access to air conditioning. Vulnerable groups, including the elderly, children, and individuals with pre-existing health conditions, are at heightened risk of heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Pets left in vehicles or outside without adequate shade and water are also at risk. The warm overnight temperatures will further exacerbate the situation by limiting recovery from daytime heat exposure.
