• The cyclone caused severe damage in southern Odisha, particularly in Ganjam and Kandhamal districts.

Impact & Risks

The landslides and floods caused by Cyclone Arnab have resulted in significant loss of life and property in Odisha. Ganjam district has been particularly affected, with severe damage to agricultural crops and infrastructure. The financial burden on farmers and affected families is immense, with businesses in Aska alone reportedly suffering losses exceeding Rs 1,000 crore. The lack of adequate relief measures and basic necessities in some relief centres has further exacerbated the situation.
