• The National Weather Service has issued a Hurricane Warning and Storm Surge Warning for Gulf Shores, Alabama, and surrounding areas as Hurricane Isaias approaches the northern Gulf Coast.
• The storm is expected to bring life-threatening conditions, including winds of 74–110 mph (119–177 km/h), storm surge flooding of 4–7 feet (1.2–2.1 meters), and heavy rainfall of 3–6 inches (7.6–15.2 cm) with locally higher amounts.

Impact & Risks

The storm poses significant risks to life and property, including extensive wind damage to buildings, uprooted trees, and widespread power outages. Storm surge flooding could render coastal areas uninhabitable for weeks, with major damage to marinas, piers, and escape routes. Flooding from heavy rainfall may lead to evacuations and rescues, while tornadoes could cause localized destruction. Rip currents and dangerous surf conditions will persist, increasing the risk of drowning. Residents in low-lying areas and flood-prone zones are particularly vulnerable. (Source: NWS Mobile, AL)
