The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across India as the southwest monsoon remains active.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Northwest, Central, West Coast, and Northeast India.

Impact & Risks

Heavy rainfall has already disrupted normal life in several states. In Haryana's Gurugram, a section of National Highway-48 caved in due to heavy rain, causing traffic disruptions. In Uttarakhand, debris and stones blocked the Yamunotri National Highway, affecting transportation. Risks include localised flooding, reduced visibility, landslides, and transport disruptions. Vulnerable structures and waterlogged areas pose additional hazards.
