The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across multiple regions of India on July 31, 2026, due to active monsoon conditions.
North, central, east, northeast, west, and southern parts of the country are expected to experience intense rainfall.

Impact & Risks

The heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding, waterlogging, and disruptions in daily life, particularly in urban areas. Regions like Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand may experience very heavy rainfall, increasing the risk of landslides in hilly areas. Thunderstorms with gusty winds could pose risks to infrastructure and outdoor activities. Agricultural activities may also be affected in regions experiencing extreme rainfall.
