• A powerful autumn nor'easter is causing significant disruption along the North Carolina coast, particularly in the Outer Banks and Crystal Coast regions.
• The storm, which remains stationary offshore, is producing wind gusts of 45–55 mph (72–88 km/h) and massive waves, leading to severe coastal flooding and high tides.

Impact & Risks

The storm has caused severe dune erosion, road closures, and flooding, leaving communities in the Outer Banks and Crystal Coast vulnerable. Residents and visitors face risks from high tides, power outages, and hazardous driving conditions. Ocracoke Island is completely cut off, and emergency services are limited. Coastal flooding of 1–3 feet (0.3–0.9 meters) is expected in low-lying areas, with offshore waves reaching up to 18 feet (5.5 meters), increasing the risk of rip currents and beach erosion.
