Heavy rainfall of 3 to 6 inches is expected across Hawaii Island and eastern Maui, with localized totals of up to 15 inches in windward and southeast areas of Hawaii Island. This poses a risk of life-threatening flooding and mudslides, particularly in areas already saturated from Hurricane Lala. Other islands may see 1 to 2 inches of rain. Gusty winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph, are forecast, especially in higher terrain areas. These winds could cause damage to structures, downed tree branches, and power outages. Elevated surf is also anticipated along some east and south shores, though no surf advisories have been issued.
