The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather bulletin forecasting significant rainfall and thunderstorms across various regions of India.
Himachal Pradesh is expected to experience fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning from 13th to 14th September, while Uttarakhand will see similar conditions from 10th to 14th September.

Impact & Risks

The forecasted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms could lead to localised flooding, waterlogging, and disruptions in daily activities in the affected regions. Gusty winds may pose risks to weak structures, trees, and power lines, particularly in coastal and island areas. Hot and humid conditions in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala may cause discomfort, especially for vulnerable populations such as the elderly and children. Residents in areas prone to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms should remain cautious and prepared for potential hazards.
