Houston's major waterways, including the San Jacinto River, Buffalo Bayou, and Brays Bayou, remained at normal levels on Tuesday afternoon despite recent heavy rainfall.
However, an additional 4 to 7 inches of rain is forecasted for Southeast Texas through Thursday morning.

Why It's Important?

The forecasted rainfall could lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas of Southeast Texas. The potential tropical storm in the Gulf adds to the risk of prolonged heavy rain and flooding. Residents in affected areas should prepare for possible disruptions, including road closures and power outages.
