The Houston metro area and parts of Southeast Texas are under a Flood Watch from 1 a.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday. Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches (50-127 mm) are expected, with isolated areas receiving up to 9 inches (229 mm). This could lead to street flooding, particularly near and east of I-45. Gusty winds over 40 mph (64 km/h) are possible near the coast, with the strongest winds likely in Chambers County. Power outages and minor wind damage are possible in affected areas. School closures have already been announced in some districts, including Dayton ISD, Crosby ISD, and Huffman ISD.
